Sebastian Herkner is a German designer who trained at Offenbach University of Art and Design, is embarking on an ever-growing number of collaborations with international design houses (no less than 21 projects in the pipeline during 2018 for Moroso, Dedon, Thonet and Lintello to name but a few).
Over the course of the past decade, he has received some thirty awards in recognition of his innovative yet traditional work and, for all of the reasons above, he was chosen as the Designer of The Year of the January Edition of Maison et Objet 2019! You’ll be able to admire the power of his work during the prestigious design event.
With an unconditional love for traditional craftsmanship, Sebastian paired with a good feel for new technologies, a true flair for color, authentic materials and textures, an unadulterated curiosity for different cultures, for embracing and integrating them, and a commitment to taking responsibility for the things and people one works with, not to mention consideration and respect for all of the details and steps necessary to create an extraordinary object.
