Kelly Wearstler is an American designer. After founding her own design company back in the early ’90s, Kelly Wearstler Interior Design, her works were around the hotel industry built her reputation in California.
\nThe New Yorker nicknamed her “the great lady of the west coast’s interior design”.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em><\/p>\n

Born on November 21, 1967, Wearstler credits Peggy Guggenheim and Doris Duke as being her style icons. As an interior designer, Wearstler finds influence in Modernism and old Hollywood glamour.<\/p>\n

Jacque Grange is cited as her favourite designer, in part for “the way he puts things from different periods together so beautifully,”<\/em> and she also names David Hicks, Mark Rothko, and Piero Fornasetti as among her aesthetic influences.\u00a0 She believes clutter to be a big faux pas in home decor, as well as “somebody buying all their furniture from one place. The result just looks flat; it has no depth or dimensions, like a showroom.”<\/em> She believes that\u00a0“to create a successful design you need to play with different scales.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

Elle Decor\u00a0wrote around 2015 that “Wearstler encapsulates contemporary sophistication and wit, with a nod to the past and a wink at the future. The mix is altogether her own and is tailored to every job.”<\/p>\n

\nThe house went on to be the same house where actors as William Powell and Carole Lombard lived.\u00a0 Bradford Korzen, Kelly’s husband and founder of the Kor Group property empire \u2013 bought it from the Broccoli family, famous to every cineaste for being custodians of the James Bond movie franchise.<\/p>\n
